bocad-3D Carpentry is used in carpenter´s shops, timber construction companies, joining centres and by independent planning engineers. You are provided with functions for engineering everything from primitive roof shapes to complicated roofscapes, ceilings and walls. Of course, you can also generate any kind of free construction from the world of general wood construction.

bocad-3D Carpentry provides you with automated support for constructing roofs, walls and ceilings. After entering the ground plan of the building you define the roof profiles and the roof construction is derived from this information. Every roof area can be adapted individually. The insertion of dormers, skylights, chimneys and roofing timber completes the roof constructi­on. To generate timber frame walls the wall structure is defined using layers and connection details. The wall elements are installed and the openings for the windows and doors are positioned. Walls are automatically cut to match the roof. The boards and posts are then allocated. Further functions are available for producing joist clearances or installation openings, determining the points for wall hanging, inserting steel supports etc. The areas and openings for ceilings are recorded. The ceiling and trimming joists are positioned automatically.Binding joists, partitioning and rim boards can be added.

For free constructions, you can use bocad-3D Carpentry to install three-dimensional members with any kind of cross section, profile or material. The building model gains detail as members are processed and wood and steel connections are produced. Numerous catalogues from manufacturers of fittings also provide you with support. The collision check immediately shows you where rework is required. Endless views and cross sections can be opened to provide a good view of the model or individual components at any time.

Clearly represented drawings for individual components and elements, with the requisite views, cross sections, dimension lines, parts lists, drawing borders and text fields, are produced automatically using bocad-3D. All the processing steps are saved together with the project and can thus be cancelled or restored using the undo / redo function in bocad-3D - even days later. Established interfaces are used to exchange data with other CAD systems. Optional interfaces to CNC machines, e.g. joining systems, can also be purchased.
