With bocad Hybrid, we are introducing a combined license package for Steel, Roof & Wall, Timber and SmartPointCloud.

Available exclusively as a CloudLicense, it is designed for users who need flexibility across different disciplines and project types — ideal for hybrid structures and interdisciplinary teams.

With bocad Hybrid, we bring together core modules in one license, offering maximum flexibility for planning and usage.

IFC-Interface​

    Import Features:

• Screws, holes, and welds are converted into bocad connections.

• Nested structures are resolved during import.

• Transfer of the assembly structure to bocad.

• New: Extended IFC-import with support for grids, bolt standards (incl. orientation check), improved handling of openings, and additional information from P-set and classification. Import of IFC-levels with merging of congruent grids and transfer of Zpos per assembly. IFCTYPE is mapped to the bocad TX+1018 attribute.

    Export Features:

• Format IFC 2x3 is certified by buildingSMART.

• Welds included for applications like welding robots.

SmartPointCloud​

• Conversion of point clouds from 9 data formats (e.g., .e57) with visualization in SmartView.

• Ability to move and rotate the point cloud with saved settings.

• New: Multi-file conversion into one point cloud and handling of geo-reference/offsets during import.

• As of 1/1/25, an extra license is needed to use SmartPointCloud (bocad Hybrid comes with SmartPointCloud already)

Export to IDEA StatiCa​

• Transfer profiles and sheet metal contours with machining, screws, and welds for structural analysis.

SmartView​

• Collision control between reference and bocad models.

• Referencing point clouds and boc3db files.

• Use SmartSelect and other bocad functions within SmartView.

• Open SmartView as any desired view of the bocad model.

• New: Orthogonal view with adjustable reference plane, configurable display of DB points, and filter option to show only selected parts.

SmartNavigator​

• Visual representation of the building's structure (subsystem, assembly, and members).

• Display status of members (marked, changed) and access to properties.

• Open drawings directly for each member.

• Flexibility to dock the SmartNavigator window within the main view or place it externally.

• New: New symbols for member and phase status, with enhanced visualization of production states.

Miscellaneous Improvements​

• STEP-Export capability for pipes.

• Redesign and extension of the online help accessible via the F1 key.

• Improved display of designations in drawings.

• Output of drawings in PDF/A format.

• Enhancements for roof and wall modules, including management of fasteners and openings.
