bocad: Key technology for innovative, sustainable and efficient hybrid construction solutions

Eschborn, April 2025 - The future of construction is hybrid: the combination of steel, wood, concrete and glass offers ecological, economic and technical advantages. Hybrid construction is therefore one of the world's largest growth markets. Modern software solutions such as bocad 2025 from SCHULLER&Company make it possible to realise this construction method efficiently, error-free and sustainably. Digitalisation and Building Information Modelling (BIM) play a key role in this.

Innovation in hybrid construction: bocad is the key technology

With bocad, SCHULLER&Company (S&C) offers a multidisciplinary key technology for precise, sustainable and cross-trade design in hybrid construction. The new version bocad 2025 sets new standards in hybrid construction and offers - Enhanced BIM functionalities: optimised IFC export (buildingSMART certified) for improved data exchange.

- Integration of point clouds: More efficient modelling of existing structures.

- Automation & workflow optimisation: Faster processes and greater accuracy.

- Cloud and collaboration solutions: Real-time data sharing for improved collaboration.

The versatility of building materials, BIM capability and intuitive operation make bocad 2025 the ideal solution for modern hybrid construction,' explains Helmut Schuller, CEO of SCHULLER&Company. We are continuously developing bocad and preparing it for future innovations such as green concrete and biomaterials.

Seamless integration with Revit

The combination of bocad and Revit sets new standards for the implementation of hybrid construction methods that efficiently combine different materials such as steel, wood and concrete. Architectural models from Revit can be seamlessly transferred to bocad for further processing. This combination enables an efficient, error-free workflow from design to production and assembly.

Sustainability & Efficiency: Special hybrid construction projects with bocad

  • Roots Hamburg: The 18-storey timber hybrid building by Rubner reduces the carbon footprint, limits noise emissions and promotes a healthy indoor climate.

  • World of Volvo in Göteborg: An architectural masterpiece made of wood, glass and steel, realised by WIEHAG - Pictures in the attachment.

  • Polish Polar Station: A showcase project for hybrid construction, combining wood and steel to maximise efficiency and sustainability. Using bocad, Andrewex Construction achieved seamless BIM integration and accurate detailing of complex structures. The project is currently under construction. Pictures attached.

With bocad 2025 and strategic partnerships with Autodesk, SCHULLER&Company is setting new standards in the digitalisation of the construction industry. A key element is the S&C Collaboration Suite, which enables digital twins and optimises processes throughout the entire lifecycle of a building. S&C's digital solutions increase efficiency, productivity and sustainability in the construction industry.

bocad - Pioneer since 1983

In the 1980s, bocad developed from a steel construction software to a versatile solution for hybrid construction projects. Early milestones such as the Metropol Parasol in Seville and the world's first multi-storey timber hybrid building LCT ONE (Dornbirn) demonstrate the innovative strength of bocad.
