bocad 2026: Seamless communication across trades on a shared data foundation

Eschborn / Cologne, March 2026. With bocad 2026, SCHULLER&Company strengthens a seamless BIM workflow across the entire value chain—from design and detailing through fabrication to building operation. The solution will be presented at digitalBAU 2026 in Cologne. A central project base—cloud-based or on-premises—ensures consistent data and provides the foundation for collaboration across all trades. It also serves as the basis for the SC Collaboration Suite as a platform for the digital twin. Coordination takes place directly on the model, reducing effort and increasing process reliability and design security in steel, timber, light metal, glass, and hybrid construction as well as in industrial prefabrication.

“The construction industry is in the midst of industrialization,” explains Helmut Schuller, CEO and founder of SCHULLER&Company. “Today, the decisive step is no longer data exchange, but direct communication between trades based on a shared model. With bocad and the SC Collaboration Suite, we are creating the foundation for this seamless collaboration.” OneProject: Central project base for design, detailing, and fabricationWith OneProject, SCHULLER&Company introduces a central project base for the first time. Design, detailing, fabrication, and documentation operate on a shared, cross-material and cross-trade data structure. All stakeholders access the same project status in real time. A shared data base prevents parallel project versions in complex projects with numerous drawings and reduces errors. Changes take effect across the entire project, reducing rework and coordination between design and the workshop. At the same time, it creates a reliable foundation for as-built models and structured handover data in building operation.

OneProject also forms the basis for the SC Collaboration Suite, enabling seamless collaboration across systems and companies. Game changer “Cloning”: Intelligent automation in the detailing processThe cloning function allows changes to be applied easily across a large number of elements throughout a project. Adjustments can be made specifically by element, assembly, or part mark and automatically transferred to identical components.

SmartDraw: Color-coded visualization of changesSmartDraw ensures transparency in drawing status and makes changes in the model immediately visible. Color-coded markings precisely highlight deviations and ensure that drawings always correspond to the current model status, so that only up-to-date fabrication documents are issued to the workshop.

Cross-trade communication based on a shared modelWith the SC Collaboration Suite, SCHULLER&Company provides an environment in which data from different systems are consolidated and made usable as consistent models—regardless of whether they originate from Revit or bocad, for example.

On this basis, design, structural engineering, detailing, MEP, and electrical disciplines work on a consistent model and access the same up-to-date project status. The key factor is consistency within the shared model. This creates a continuous communication environment in which coordination, changes, and conflicts are handled directly at the component level and remain transparent to all stakeholders.

Formats such as BCF support communication by anchoring coordination directly in the model and making it traceable.

bocad: a unified data logic for model, drawings, and fabricationThe consistent linkage of model, drawing, and fabrication data is not a new concept in bocad, but a core principle since the 1980s. It forms the foundation for enabling all stakeholders to work on a unified data base and communicate directly on the model.
