This project demonstrates how complex transmission towers for a 230-kV power line were designed and detailed using bocad, including large-span river crossing structures.

Varying load conditions, high quality requirements and tight timelines demanded a reliable and efficient engineering workflow.

Challenge
The project required accurate 3D modeling of steel structures and steel detailing for transmission towers of complex tower geometries under different load scenarios while maintaining strict adherence to project specifications and international standards. In particular, the river crossing towers introduced additional structural and coordination challenges.

At the same time, large volumes of structural data had to be processed consistently. Ensuring efficient coordination between engineering and production, minimizing fabrication errors, and optimizing the design for manufacturability within tight deadlines added to the overall complexity of the project.
