bocad 2025 – the most comprehensive software extension to date:
speed, point cloud, data exchange, user-friendliness
Eschborn, November 2024. The digitalisation of the construction industry is gathering pace, enabling a significant increase in efficiency and collaboration along the value chain. At BAU 2025, SCHULLER&Company (S&C) will present the latest product developments of the bocad detailing software at stand C3.611. bocad 2025 focuses on higher speed, user-friendliness and optimal data exchange. A special highlight is the easy and fast integration of point clouds (see picture). The user-friendly SMART series has been extended with the SmartPointCloud, SmartView, SmartConnect and SmartNavigator features.
The highlights of bocad 2025:
SmartView: Display of reference models, collision control between reference models such as IFC, point cloud and bocad model.
SmartPointCloud: Conversion of the point cloud from 9 data formats with display in SmartView
SmartNavigator: The navigation tool displays the tree structure of the current model. The status of the component (positioned, modified, access to properties) and the drawings for the part are clearly displayed and can therefore be quickly modified, checked and verified.
SmartConnect: the range of automatic connections has been extended
Exchange with IDEA Statica structural analysis software
IFC import enhancements: Bolts, holes and welds are converted to bocad connections, nested structures are resolved during import so that the main item structure is adopted in bocad.
IFC export extensions: the 2x3 format is certified by buildingSMART, the EM.11 manufacturing standard is supported, welds, e.g. for welding robots.
bocad licences in the cloud: cloud licences are now available for all customers, so that bocad can be used from any workstation.

bocad is a design and layout software for structural engineering. The software supports designers and engineers in creating digital models, integrating them into BIM projects, automatic nomenclature, production and assembly drawings and digital job files. bocad covers the areas of steel, timber and façade construction, as well as offshore installations and pylon construction. bocad's strength lies in the detailed planning of structures of varying complexity, from warehouses to the Guggenheim Museum, down to the last screw. The software precisely maps the connections between the individual components, checks the design and provides the bills of materials and order lists.
