New bocad update simplifies BIM processes, user-friendly Smart range and addresses US customers

With the new release 2024.3, bocad systematically expands its BIM capabilities and optimises the user-friendliness with the Smart series. bocad has been represented on the US market since April 2024 and has already incorporated customer requirements into the new release.

Since its acquisition by SCHULLER & Company in May 2002, the bocad BIM software has been systematically improved to offer users a user-friendly interface with enhanced BIM functionality. Each release is characterised by the requirements and wishes of the users and offers up-to-date and practical solutions.

In the construction industry, the efficient and error-free management of 3D models is at the centre of attention. The new bocad 2024.3 release supports users with optimised interfaces and new features that enable seamless data exchange and improved collaboration between project participants. The highly functional IFC interface makes a decisive contribution to smooth collaboration and accurate planning and results.

The Smart series: Comfortable design with speed

Developed by SCHULLER&Company, the Smart Series enhances ease of use and speed of operation with fast commands and access. The SmartSelect wheel allows users to configure their own shortcuts. SmartInfo, the "world's fastest database query", has been enhanced with additional elements.

In addition, bocad facilitates and optimises collaboration between designers across different disciplines by optimising data transfer and integrating relevant information for all parties involved in the construction process. This increases the accuracy of designs and reduces the error rate.

The release 2024.3 brings 37 new features and over 100 enhancements, including several specifically designed for the US market. By continuously improving the user interface, expanding the functionality of existing tools, and adding new capabilities in popular formats like IFC, we ensure a smoother workflow and faster processes for our users:

- BIM and IFC import: Simplified import of nested structures and assignment of existing jobs.

- SmartSeries: Improved turbo database query through SmartInfo

- Part colour identification: Better selection and overview of the entire structure.

- USA 2024 market entry: Data import and consideration of US dimensions.

- US stairs: Interactive stairs.

- Communication: Dynamic adaptation and setting of languages on the fly.

The next major update is planned for the bocad user meeting on 7 November 2024.

SCHULLER&Company has also started setting up operations in Houston, TX, to serve the North American market.
