CHALLENGES
Installation of the new Seibert Bridge between the Seguin island and Meudon on the left bank of the Seine, France:
The cable arch bridge with a carriageway consisting of box girders and bracketsconsists of two spans, the first of which is a bowstring over the Seine having approximately 100 m, while the second, 50 m
long, allows the crossing of the RD7.
ADVANTAGES
The steel construction company Baudin Châteauneuf from the Loire region uses bocad as its end-to-end software. For the construction of the Seibert Bridge the production plans of the 3D model were created one hundred per cent automatically. This allows bocad to go straight into production without any post-processing in other software.
Baudin uses BIM to exchange information between the BE, the workshop and the site. The IFC model serves as a database for the CAM system, giving us a scalable and visual production bill of materials. Once the 3D model is complete, the IFC interface reads the metadata for production tracking. Baudin links this IFC model to all the drawings required to manufacture the structure. They use the same model for dimensional control using augmented and virtual reality.
