CHALLENGES
Bus port in Singen, Germany:
The custom-made Alucobond roof structure is the central element of the 160-metre-long bus station, which was designed by K9 Architekten. The geometric complexity of the soffit, which consists of large-format triangular surfaces tilted in two axes, required precise planning and realisation. In addition, a visually appealing solution had to be found to exclude directly visible fixings. Further challenges included the overhead installation of the façade elements and the integration of LED lighting in the joints.
ADVANTAGES
The 3D design with bocad made it possible to create accurate production templates for the workshop, which increased precision and efficiency in production. The Alucobond production department was able to import the output files in DWG format directly into the machining station, thus enabling a wonderful integral collaboration between design and production. The IFC interface was the basis for the support structure, automatic generation of bills of materials and SZ20 elements. The use of points ensured the correct conversion of lengths to dimensions.
