PROJECT
CHALLENGES
Crossrail Station Canary Wharf in London, UK:
In the centre of London's Canary Wharf business district WIEHAG has built the railway station, today a landmark of timber construction culture.
Canary Wharf station is integrating timber as a raw material into urban development. The realisation was a challenging task for the WIEHAG engineers, who carried out the planning, structural analysis and execution of the roof structure.
ADVANTAGES
Software requirements : 3D planning of timber and steel components. Also the interfaces to concrete construction and 2D factory planning, as well as workshop planning for timber and steel components.
Helpful features of bocad:
The automated plan updating and visualisation was particularly helpful at the time, especially because of the many adjustments required by the architecture, building services and façade construction.
Every component is included in the 3D model, including all fasteners.
